Preparing Your Home For Inspection

July 27, 2015 By Linda Dolan

As a seller, a home inspection is often required to fulfill an executed contract. Before closing, many lenders require a buyer secure an appraisal and a home inspection for the home they intend to purchase. Here are a few friendly tips to prepare your home for inspection:

Provide access to the attic, crawlspace, heating system, garage and other areas that will need to be inspected.

Make sure utilities and appliances are on.

Be aware that rotted wood will be probed.

Allow access to the electrical panel.

Replace burned out light bulbs.

Caulk all interior plumbing and exterior gaps or holes.

There are many more steps you can take to prepare your home for a home inspection. Contact our office for more information. You can reach Chrissy at [email protected].
